The building at 1716 NW 23rd Avenue has held a bar since 1909, when Bavarian brewer Anton Gansneder built it; later known as the Hangman's Tree and the Chug-a-Mug, it is now McMenamins Tavern & Pool, with pool tables, shuffleboard and a woodstove. Seven days a week, 2pm to 5pm and 10pm to close, beer and cider pints are $1.50 off, flights $2 off and Cajun tots $9.
Happy hour times
2 windows a week, in McMenamins Tavern & Pool’s own local time.
