A green marble bar anchors the two floors of Aventino, Mike Friedman's Roman-leaning Italian restaurant on Bethesda Row, where the pasta is made in house. Every day from 4pm to 6:30pm it holds a martini hour covering spritzes, Italian cocktails, wine and snacks. Friedman also runs The Red Hen and All-Purpose in Washington.
